Our Mission is to progress rural Haitian communities living in poverty
by providing Primary Education and Health Services to children and families.

Welcome to the LiLa Foundation for Health and Education

Incorporated in 2010 by Alain Pompilus, Jeanine Midy, and Jacqueline Pompilus; LiLa Foundation has held a strong contributive presence in the town of Arcahaie for nearly a decade prior to its official founding.

The LiLa Foundation was created to serve the health and education needs of the Haitian people. Our approach improves and promotes wellness of the community by providing medication, health examinations, health awareness, and elementary education to poverty stricken communities. These efforts combat the immediate crisis caused by the lack of adequate health care and poor nutrition, as well as address the demands of the future by educating the youth in the community.

LiLa Foundation programs have been providing a significant impact on the lives of a number of impoverished areas within Haiti. We have been successful in partnering with a number of organizations nationally whose objectives are aligned with our own.

The devastating earthquake in January 2010 profoundly impacted the LiLa Foundation's scope, requiring a significantly greater level of support and resources. LiLa Foundation intends to provide continued relief to Haitian victims adversely affected by this tragedy.

President's Message

A message from Kaleena Francois, Health Administration Manager LiLa Foundation

The Health program of the LiLa Foundation for Health and Education is undergoing some exciting growth. This year our focus is expanding our Health program to reach more people in rural areas of Haiti. With increased awareness and participation through volunteerism, we stand to have significant impact on the Haitian community, both internationally and locally. Below you will find some of the most recent updates from our program.

UCF’s APPA supply drive             April 2012

As a foundation, we truly believe that it takes partnerships with others of similar objectives that will help improve our reach and effectiveness to impact and ultimately change people’s lives for the better. We have found such partnership with the Association of Pre-Physician Assistants at the University of Central Florida. They have gotten together to host a supply drive on our behalf. If you are in the Orlando area and have resources that could potentially be beneficial for our health program, please contact the project leader, Lian Szeto at appa.historian@gmail.com.

Annual Fundraising event           April 27th, 2012; 6-9p

Our Vice President, Mrs. Jeanine Midy, is once again hosting her annual fundraising/networking event.   If you are going to be in the Boston, MA area and are interested in finding out more information regarding this event, please email Farrah at Farrah@LiLaHelps.org

Zumba for Haiti                                May 4th, 2012; 6-8p

As we prepare for our Annual Health Fair in Haiti, it is only proper that we promote wellness in our local community as well. If you will be in Orlando, FL on May 4th, please consider supporting this event. All proceeds will go toward purchasing much needed prescriptions and point-of-care testing supplies. For event information, please go to zumbaforhaiti.eventbrite.com.

7th Annual Foire De Sante            May 15-22, 2012

This health summit has been promoting wellness by administering medications, conducting health examinations, and raising awareness for over five years now! Each year we see increased need. For this reason, the foundation has worked hard on developing a solid group of team leaders and volunteers. We have increased our practice location to four sites in Arcahaie, Léogâne, and Jean Dumas to service the projected 1500 patients that are lacking adequate health care. We know our goal is ambitious, but it is our mission to serve those neglected and dejected. If you would like to help out in any fashion, please let us know!

We sincerely appreciate all of your support and encouragement as we move forward to expand our health program. Just know that every dollar donated to the health program goes directly to offering health care to the populations we serve. Every donation we receive is valued. We need all the help you can give!! So many lives are pending, so please consider supporting today!

Sincerely,
